How To Make Tandoori chicken at Home

1 tablespoon oil
1/2 tsp turmeric
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp salt
2 tsp gram flour
1 tsp Kasuri methi
4 tsp yogurt
1 tsp cashmere red chilli powder

2-3 tablespoons oil

1 tsp cashmere red chillies

- Place the chicken in a large plate.
- Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, cumin, garam masala, black pepper powder, 1 tsp salt, gram flour, kasuri fenugreek, curd and cashmere red chilli on the chicken and mix well.
- Then add 1 tbsp and mix well.
- After marinating, cover the chicken and keep it for 2-3 hours. Well you can keep it in the fridge for 5-6 hours if you want.
- To make gravy, put oil in the cooker and heat on medium flame.
- Once the oil is hot, add tomato puree, red chilli powder, salt and mix well.
- Tomato puree has to be cooked for 10-12 minutes.
- When the gravy starts releasing oil, keep the lid of the cooker on top and cook. Do not close the lid.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes then remove the lid.
- You will find that the gravy is releasing oil. Cook and thicken it.
- Then add marinated chicken pieces and mix well. Roast on high flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Then cover the cooker and blow 2 whistles.
- After whistling, when the pressure in the cooker is over, open the lid and remove the chicken pieces on a plate. Put the gravy on low flame and cook till the water dries.
- When the gravy dries and thickens, put it on the chicken pieces and wrap it well.
- Now place these chicken pieces on the cooling tray or on the grill. So that their masala dries well.
- In 8-10 minutes the masala wrapped in chicken will dry.
- Now put the chicken pieces in a square and bake on the flame. Add butter in between so that they have a good smoky flavor.
- You can also bake leg pieces with tongs.
- Enjoy the prepared tandoori chicken with green chutney, onion and lemon.
